28th March
We have received delivery of our latest Murano
order. The site is restocked and we have added several new items, in particular
we have extended our range of Rubino
and Dark Ruby and have added drops
and lentils to many colours. A mix up with our supplier has resulted in the
shortages from our last order have been duplicated so we now have plenty of
stocks!
We await a delivery of Karen silver later next week so the 'barren' hearts
section will soon be replenished.
10th March
The Beadalon section had been restocked
and added new 19 strand wires in multi colours, satin copper and fabulous
7 strand sterling silver.
We have added a section on Fairtrade
and ethical beading in our Hints and Tips section. We are aften asked
about the source of our beads due to concerns about the working conditions
in the originating countries. We have indicated, to the best of our knowledge,
the makers country with our view on the conditions of employment.
5th March
We have some lovely new Swarovski items added to the site this evening,
including beautiful butterfly pendants in a variety of pretty colours which
will be perfect for summer, leaf pendants and the new
Swarovski 'Mocca' colour which is a fabulous, rich chocolately brown. We also
have some great new Semi Precious and silver pendants, and a nice range of
Mother of Pearl Donuts, Butterflies and Ovals; we've also just placed an order
for some new sterling silver clasps which are being worked on by the makers
as we write.
Silver prices continue to rise and are now significantly affecting the pricing
of many items we stock. In common with other commodity stocks, precious metals
have been considered a safe haven alternative to nervous investors who have
moved from the now uncertain banking and insurance sectors. This has driven
a skywards price increase as the 'Gold Rush' gathers momentum. Silver is now
trading at 35% higher than the start of this year and 60% higher than 2007.
Gold has seen similar changes.
Since we hold significant stocks of most items we have been immune from the
most recent price increases and have managed to hold prices until now.
However, as we restock our precious metals we will be
forced to review costs and this may cause an increase in prices.
We are already aware that the price of Murano glass has increased due partly
to the gold and silver foil content in the finished beads. We expect new supplies
from Murano soon and anticipate that prices of several of the items will increase.
4th March
Swarovski have announced that they are to discontinue some items, involving
several colours, effects and articles. This mostly affects does not affect
the items in our range, though below you'll find a list of the following which
will be discontinued once they have run out on the site;
On the plus side however, Swarovski have announced new articles which we will be adding to the site soon.
16th Feb
We received our delivery of sterling silver and vermeil from Bali today. You
will find restocks of STS headpins
and beads, plus new vermeil
headpins, beadcaps and earring findings. The ball headpins are a perfect compliment
to the gold foiled Murano hearts; Stephanie is currently having a spring clean
in her own studio and there may be some one-of-a-kind treasures available
periodically as and when she can prise her fingers off them...
We are currently discussing a trip to Murano to see our suppliers within the next several weeks; its always guaranteed that we come back from there loaded up with good stuff, so watch these pages.
Just as Valentines is over for the year, don't forget that
Mother's Day in the UK is early this year (2nd March) so only 2 weeks to get
those special treasures ready in time.
9th Feb
We hope that your Valentines day jewellery production is going well. We
have been keeping to schedule with deliveries during this busy time with
most early afternoon orders mailing same day.
We have been adding a few oddments to the site including some Swarovski
items. Swarovski have increased their prices recently we have yet to make
review of our costs since our stocks were bought at the old prices, but
we may have to review this in the future particularly due to the current
poor Euro exchange rate.
Our supplier in Bali has been making new supplies for us - they confirmed
delivery today so we should have new stocks next week. We are always delighted
with the quality of our Bali deliveries so are looking forward to adding
these to the site. We also await delivery of a further Murano order which
will complete the balance of items ommitted from the January delivery.
22nd Jan
Good news! Our delivery of Murano
glass has arrived. Unfortunately due to the extended production time, we
'pulled' the order before it was complete to make sure we had a stock to
offer for your Valentine's day goodies. Most items are restocked but few
30mm hearts were available. Fortunately we are still holding stocks in most
colours, but the most popular Rubino is missing. A few new designs and colours
have been added; watch out for the the fabulous 'Bengal
Tiger' and 'Misty Meadow'
hearts.
16th Jan
The Karen Silver arrived today - all gorgeous as
usual. the site has been restocked and several new items have been added,
including four new heart designs - just in time
for valentines day!
10th Jan
As a New Year thank you have launched our £5 voucher for every £50
spent promotion. It will run until Friday 18th Jan. Vouchers
are useable upto 28th Feb.
We have added a few odd strands of semi precious beads to the site.
A delivery of Karen silver is expected next week, all items will be restocked, plus several new hearts and other items will be added.
We are waiting for the delivery of our Murano glass bead restock. This should refill all of the out of stock items, extend our exisiting range plus add some new colours. Delivery was promised for early January and we are hopeful that it will be with us soon.
We added to our gallery showing examples of jewellery Stephanie made recently on page 1. The older photos have been moved to page 2.
We were dissapointed to be unable to replace the out of stock Malachite drops. These make terrific earrings so are pleased to have added the same drop in Amazonite, Black Onyx and Sodalite.
Our supplier sent us 1½" STS headpins in place of 1". We have decided to keep them and have replaced the 1" at the same cost, - whilst stocks last.
