Blue Topaz

Topaz in fact comes in a variety of colours ranging from colourless to yellow to blue, browns, gold, oranges, though red and pink are the most desirable and expensive of this family of stones. Blue Topaz is created with the natural stone being treated with a special process (a recognised practice in the gemstone trade) to bring a particular colour to it - in this case blue; this is an affordable substitute for aquamarine as it mimics some of the colouring within that stone - we have found this stone to be relatively difficult to source in terms of finding good quality clarity and different shapes (hence the limited selection of the stuff we really liked), but we are always working on that! Lovely with Labradorite, Amazonite, Aquamarine, Rose Quartz, Mother of Pearl, Freshwater Pearls, Citrine.....
