Like the other book written by the same author (Designs for Beaded Jewellery Glass Beads) this is a different type of book to many others on the site like its sister publication the book focuses exclusively on the DESIGN of pieces and gives the BAREST bones instructions on how to make them other than a very cursory brief list of components and a brief description on the construction of the piece the rest is left to the reader/maker therefore we would have to say that this is a book for advanced jewellery makers i.e. if you know all the techniques then this is the one for you having said that there were techniques employed that we were unfamiliar with oh well I guess we could always go and look them up in other books! Having said all this the items of jewellery are interesting and the photography is clear and in most cases its possible to mentally deconstruct a piece to come up with the steps to reconstruct it in real life however the prime purpose of any book we would argue is that it is there to inspire not to invite slavish copying and by attempting to deconstruct the projects in this book it is highly likely you would come up with some original ideas of your own so initially whilst we were taken aback a little by the paucity of instructions this book does definitely challenge and inspire.
