Cultured freshwater pearls are farmed from Mussels almost exclusively in the Far East. The mussels are hand nucleated and the pearl grown for upto 2 years. The pearls are dyed if required, then drilled, polished and strung.

All of our pearls are drilled with small holes ranging from 0.3 to 0.6mm, necklaces and are traditionally strung onto silk with knots between each pearl, but fine wire or stringing is equally suitable.
