Why do I have a Pending Transaction
You may notice a pending transaction for a payment that has not been completed - it may look like you've been charged, but if our system says the order failed then we have not collected any funds.
What is a Pending Transaction?
After you have entered your card details our payment gateway (Opayo) will undergo a security check by linking to your card issuer to compare the cardholder details, card data, check funds then usually a One Time Passcode (OTP) is issued to the card holder. At the time the information is exchanged with the bank, the funds are reserved then only charged once the transaction is approved.
If any of the security checks or OTP fails then the transaction will also have failed, however some banks will continue to hold the reserved funds for a period.
Why did the payment fail?
It could be any one of a number of reasons including: cardholder or card data mismatch, OTP fail, insufficient funds, a network error, or merchant processing issues.
Does pending mean the money is already taken out?
Pending transactions are authorized transactions that are still being processed. The transaction amount is deducted from any available funds but isn't reflected in account balances until processed and posted.
How long do pending transactions take to clear?
Many pending charges disappear between a few hours or days dependant on the bank. Though some institutions may have a longer period. It ultimately depends on the type of transaction, the processor settings for the credit card program, and what's stated in your agreement.
Can BeadAddict release the pending status
It is the bank has placed the transaction as pending, since the payment was not completed we are unable to access or influence the release of any funds. You may be able to request the card issuer to remove the hold before it times out.
